Urgals
Urgals are large dark-skinned humanoids. They have curling horns on their head and seven toes on their feet. Urgals are known throughout Alagaesia for being war-like and aggressive. They are often looked down upon by the other major races of the land.
Kull: These urgals are exceptionally large and powerful, reaching eight feet or more. They are capable of running at high speeds for days on end. They have a fearsome reputation and often live up to it.
Example Names: Garzhvog, Tarok, Gashz, Skgahgrezh

Elves
Elves are known for their beauty and grace. They keep mostly to themselves in the forests of Du Weldnvarden. They are fast, strong, and have a large number of powerful spellcasters among them. Elves are effectively immortal and usually die only from wounds of the flesh or incurable disease. Elves place a great deal of value on courtesy.
Example Names: Tarmunora, Vandil, Tunivor, Laetri

Dragons
Dragons are large, flying, fire-breathing reptiles that come in all colors imaginable. As a species, they are said to be as old as the land of Alagaesia itself. Dragons, like the elves, are effectively immortal and continue to grow throughout their entire life. While they happen to be ferocious predators, they are also quite intelligent as well.
Dragons naturally know how to hunt shortly after they are born. They can fly a couple days after hatching, and can breath fire within three to six months. They also oftentimes show wisdom beyond their years.
Example Names: Roslarb, Ingothold, Vervada, Eridor
Dragon Riders: Sometimes a dragon will hatch for a specific human or elf, forming a special bond between the dragon and rider. This bond allows them to share thoughts and feelings freely as if they had a single mind. In the case of a human becoming a dragon rider, the human gains the ability to perform spells and also gains the dragon's long life span.

Werecat
There is not much known about werecats other than the fact that there are not many of them around. They keep mostly to themselves, so when one chooses to speak to you it would be a good idea to listen. Werecats look essentially like overgrown house cats, but can change into a small, human-like form.
Example Names: Solembum, Maud

Spirits
Spirits are some of the most mysterious beings in Alagaesia. They resemble floating orbs of light and are capable of completing magical feats that most people can't even comprehend. Sorcerers sometimes summon spirits to increase their own magical capabilities, but needless to say the spirits don't like this.
Shade: A shade is created when a sorcerer summons spirits that they are unable to fully control. Evil spirits take over the sorcerer's body and use it for their own ends. A shade possesses immense strength, speed, and magical prowess. They can only be killed by destroying their heart.
Example Names: Durza, Varaug

Ra'zak
The ra'zak are supposedly extinct in Alagaesia, but who knows if they really are, or if there are one or two lurking beyond the fringes of normal society. The ra'zak are predators to humans and have large bug-like eyes and a beak for a mouth. Their minds can not be sensed by magic users, and they can not use magic themselves either. They have speed and strength that rivals the elves, although they are weaker during the day than they are at night.
Lethrblaka: The adult form of the ra'zak. They crudely resemble leather-skinned dragons. Lethrblaka often serve as flying mounts for their children.
