The basic setting for this roleplaying site is the land of Alagaesia from the Inheritance Cycle by Christopher Paolini. While the geography and places are the same, there are still a few noteworthy differences. These changes were made because I felt it would make it easier to use as background for this RP. I know that everyone will not agree with the changes I've made, but they are still there, so don't ignore them.
1. People. The people in the books are not present in this RP. No Eragon, no Nasuada, and no Galbatorix. The history of the continent is the same, just without any of the named characters from the books. We will assume that the foresworn still wiped out almost all dragons, but Galbatorix didn't take the throne afterwards. But maybe someone else did, and the Varden is opposing them instead.
2. Elves. I kept the elves as unlockable characters because they are a bit overpowered for the normal RP. In the books they grow up knowing the ancient language and casting magic, and even the weakest elves can easily overpower a human. That is my reasoning for not letting people be elves right away.
3. Language. I know it doesn't even make sense, but for the sake of this site you can't teach other people words from the ancient language that you know. Even if someone is speaking to you and they describe in detail how to say a word from the ancient language that you don't already know, you won't learn it. Unless, of course, you are a spellcaster and you just reached a new posting level.
